Freed's Bakery

Having been a commercial advertising photographer in Las Vegas since 1976, I have had the fortune of maintaining a working relationship with a lot of my clients for many years. One such client is Freed's Bakery where I have been lucky enough to do most of their photography for the past twenty-five years. Joni Fried, the owner, has been a friend and client. My wife, Peggy, and Joni have been friends since they began taking ice skating lessons together as young girls. Freed's Bakery had been a fixture in Las Vegas for over 50 years. Joni has taken over where her father and mother left off. She recently consolidate her two locations into a new mega-store at 9815 S. Eastern Ave.

Last week, Joni had me come by and photograph many of her tasty pastries, cookies and cakes for a multitude of uses. I have to admit that the rugulach was too much for me to resist and a few pieces were consumed by the photographer. A few other pastries may have gone missing also, but no one was counting. I will post a few of the 142 images we created that day.

FIno A Gentleman's Grooming Salon

Last week we had the privilege of photographing Fino A Gentleman's Grooming Salon. We were able to photography the owner, Alejandro, and his staff of fun people. This is a classy place for guys to get their haircut, manicures, and facials in a relaxing atmosphere. We had a blast working with the barbers there.

DJ Dynamixx

I had the good fortune of photographing DJ Dynamixx for Hooters Hotel and Casino. These dynamic guys perform at Dixie's Dam Bar. It was a fun shoot trying different scenarios with these crazy guys. It is always a delight to work with professionals who are willing to do anything to get the best shot. Barbra Jo Batterman added her remarkable skills making up the guys to look their best. It is always a pleasure to work with Michele Popejoy at Hooters as she knows what she wants and also gives great direction.

Goodsprings Nevada

I recently drove out to Goodsprings to take a few shots for my own library of Las Vegas valley images. I hadn't been there in many years. Goodsprings is an old mining town not far from Las Vegas. The Goodsprings Saloon, which was built in 1913, is still serving cold ones.

As the year winds down, I want to take time to reflect on all my blessings and wish you all a Happy Holiday and hope for a healthy New Year.

I dug out this image I shot a couple of years ago for a Christmas Card. The beautiful models are Tishara Cousino and Destiny Davis. The are both former Playboy Playmates. The fabulous makeup was provided by Phyllis Bond and the hair was styled by Allison Bonanno. Santa couldn't stop smiling after I showed him who he had to work with. I can't believe we actually paid this dude.
